Amikor Jacob (Jordan Matthews), a fiatal harcos megmenti a tinédzser Sarah (Hallee Hirsh) életét, felajánlja segítségét, hogy épségben hazajuttatja a lányt. A feladat nem egyszerű, ugyanis a végtelenül gonosz Mathias (Brad Dourif) el akarja kapni őket, hogy megszerezze az ősi nyakláncot, mely eredetileg Sarah bácsikájának tulajdonát képezte. A cél érdekében Mathias semmitől sem riad vissza, és megfertőzi a teljes várost egy kórral, melytől az emberek az ő démoni hadseregévé változnak. Útközben azonban a fiatalok a bennük rejtőző démonokkal is meg kell ,hogy küzdjenek. Sarah lassan ráébred, hogy anyja és testvére iránti gyűlölete indokolatlan volt, Jacob pedig felfedezi múltjának nagy titkait, és rájön, hogy ha végleg le akarja győzni a démonokat, vissza kell térnie oda, ahol családját meggyilkolták.
