Filip életében végre bekövetkezik a régen várt nagy esemény: kislánya születik. Az újdonsült apa vásárol egy szuper 8-as filmfelvevő kamerát, ezzel szeretné megörökíteni a kislány életének kedves pillanatait. Mikor filmezési hobbija közismertté válik, azt a feladatot kapja igazgatójától, hogy készítsen filmfelvételt a vállalat jubileumi ünnepségéről. A botcsinálta operatőr először tétován fogadja a megbízást, majd percről percre egyre inkább szenvedélyévé válik a filmezés, az események rögzítése. Ez aztán addigi életét teljesen megváltoztatja.
