Egy elhagyatott kastély falai között vértől szennyes szájú vámpír-denevér emészt csendesen emberi holttestek felett. A sokat sejtető képek után Drakula gróf ismét feltámad sírjából, hogy több vödörnyi vér és sok-sok erőszak "kíséretében" okozzon ismét örömet a horror rajongóinak. A félelemtől már-már eszét vesztett falusi lakosok - hogy megelőzzék Drakula újabb rémuralmát - felgyújtják a rettegett gróf kastélyát. A következmény azonban csak a borzalmak kezdete: bosszúra szomjazó denevérraj tör ki az ódon épület lángoló falai közül, s még a templomban menedéket kereső anyát és gyermekét sem kímélik az iszonyatos haláltól. Évekkel később Paul, egy fiatal utazó szerencsétlenségére keresztezi a vérszomjas Drakula gróf szolgálójának útját, s naivan elfogadja a számára felkínált szálláshelyet. A kastély falain belül azonban olyan világ vár rá, amelyet elképzelni sem lenne elég bátor.
