Der Mann mit dem Buick 1968
Herr Jo, genannt "der Mann mit dem Buick", ist der Liebling der kleinen Stadt Honfleur.
Doch in Wirklichkeit ist er ein Händler mit schlechtem Ruf, der seine Vergangenheit gerne vergessen würde und sich nun auf den Schmuggel von Rubinen unter dem Deckmantel einer Wohltätigkeitsorganisation beschränkt, die benachteiligten Kindern Ferien in der Schweiz bietet.
Mr. Jo ist jedoch in eine hübsche Witwe verliebt, und um sie zu heiraten, ist er bereit, sich erneut auf einen Überfall einzulassen. Und "der Mann mit dem Buick", der so ehrenhaft schien, wird die Einwohner von Honfleur überraschen, als Inspektor Menard seine geheimen Aktivitäten aufdeckt.
